Urban VPN :
Today I’m going to discuss Urban VPN, and whether it’s a good VPN to use.
So on their website, they claim that they are the only 100% free, 100% fast and anonymous VPNs in the world, but if we go to the Play Store, and scroll down and you click on this application, you will see that it is not really a free application, it is 100% free and unlimited for 7 days, but then, if you want to pay more, it will be $450 to $45 per item.
So they’re actually going to make you pay, for more features, once you actually start using the app, and you’re past that trial and if we switch to the app Store for iOS, it’s the same story.
The monthly subscription is for 12 months is about 60 and 6 months is 39, so they are not really free, they are going to charge you for additional features, once you have exceeded this free trial, or if you want to upgrade to the premium version, and another strange thing about this VPN, is that they keep logs and no logs means that the VPN will not keep any user data, so that no government or agency can access this information, and that there can be no leakage or situation where your personal information will be distributed over the Internet.
Normally this is a good thing, and most VPNs will boast that they have a no logs policy, and even use external third-party companies, to verify that they really have a real no logs policy.
But Urban VPN is pretty clear, that they have logs and the way they write on their website, is that some providers do not collect or store any user data.
But then they cannot use these metrics to improve the service, but Urban VPN will keep logs for statistical analysis, and then once it has been used, it is periodically deleted.
Basically, they say that they keep your data temporarily, in order to improve their system, they do not mention that they actually sell, your data and personal information, in order to benefit themselves, and you can see that if you dig a little.
It is indicated that if you want Urban VPN, to stop selling your data anonymously, to third parties, please follow steps, to open the VPN application, then click op out, they say that they have not mentioned before that they are actually selling your data, and they claim that they are anonymous, although we have no way of knowing.
Because it’s never been verified by an outside company, but they say it’s anonymous, but we could opt out of it properly, so let’s go try that, let’s go to the application and we go to the settings, and we scroll down, and we go to the urban VPN administration settings, and we go to apt out right and what does it say Urban VPN, can’t work without it.
Which means if we disable this, all of a sudden current status is unavailable, we can’t use the app if you refuse, hopefully to anonymously sell your data to third parties.
The VPN becomes unusable, so it really doesn’t pay anything, you are basically obliged if you want to use this application, to make them sell your data to third parties for their own gain, and that’s really how they make money, they claim it’s free.
But then they use your personal information and sell it, and all you have is their word to know that it’s anonymous, and that there’s really no functionality in this application, to guarantee that your data will be safe, when you use it, they don’t have a kill switch, or protection against IP or DNS leaks.
So if you wanted a VPN for privacy and security, it’s really the complete opposite of that, they sell your data to other parties, even if they try to hide it, on their website because they don’t mention that here they just say that they use it for statistical analysis.
But then they clearly do it, and they don’t allow you to opt out of it, and then they don’t offer you the privacy and security features that you would want from a VPN, and to top it all off.
One of the things I use a VPN for, mainly is to access streaming content, which is not available where I live, but is available elsewhere, so I want to use the VPN to give the impression that I am somewhere else in the world, where this content is available, and then I can access the TV or the show or whatever I want to watch.
But this VPN didn’t let me, I connected to the US, I went to the website, and I try to look to the right, I click on it I start watching, but I still get the message bbci player only works in the UK, so they clearly detect the fact that I am using a VPN, and that I am connected to the UK, and they block me from accessing the website and the content.
So even if I don’t care, that they sell my data and are not as private and secure, it doesn’t even do what it claims, that it should now if you wanted a real free VPN, which does what it says, I would recommend it VPN for protons they have limitations on their free version.
You only have a limited number of countries, but this is a VPN that has no logs, and it has been audited and verified by third parties, it is unlimited and free forever, it is a really solid VPN, there are still some limitations, but overall, this is the option I would suggest, if you are desperate for a free VPN.
But if you want a fast, reliable VPN that will do the job has all the features and no limitations, there is really no other option but to pay for a VPN, and if you are willing to pay my three main recommendations, are Express Nord and surf shark, these are three of the best VPNs on the market.

Other streaming platform NordVPN has a lot of features, is really good if you want a customization of the flexibility of your VPN.
And surf shark, is the best economical VPN at a low price, but still having a lot of high-level features, which you would only find in VPNs that are usually going to be even more expensive, than surf shark.
