The BEST Box Android TV Minix Neo U9 H Review Plus

Box Android TV Minix Neo U9 H :

 Box Android TV
 Box Android TV-2

The MINIX Neo u9 H is an Android multimedia player that is not quite the same as Google TV, it works what I would call open Android, essentially it is a clean version of Android as you will find on your phone or tablet, but it is designed to work as a multimedia player on your TV and be easy to control.

It also makes an excellent Android computer, super compact the main reasons why I like open Android, is full access to the Play Store and two, it is highly customizable full access to the Play Store, means that you can choose from tens of thousands of applications in Google Play, and install them easily without having to load applications on Android TV.

Which compares to Android TV, which only has a few hundred apps and games to choose from sometimes, if you load apps on an Android TV device, you may encounter problems, for example, you can’t click on things, or maybe it will be slow because it’s an unsupported app.

I’m just saying that it’s much easier to install applications directly, from the Play Store and it’s a much safer way to avoid malware, may still encounter compatibility problems, but it’s a little less likely that I’m also really into customization on my media players.

The U9 H allows you to install all kinds of widgets, different launchers, animated wallpapers and settings, I always like to install nova launcher, or tsf launcher on my media players, because I like animations and it really makes it easier to start my applications, anyway the you NIH is highly customizable, and that’s one of my favorite things about it.

Now the new features of this media player, first of all my new favorite feature on the u9 H and that is voice search, if you get the a3 remote, there is a key for voice to text and voice search, and it works great, the reason is that it works in any application as long as it has a keyboard, you just press the small voice to text icon on the keyboard, then press the voice search button, and that will allow you to enter as much text as you want.

I think it works better than Android TV, because Android TV to perform a voice search, you need to have a supported application, and there are only a handful of supported applications at the moment, this type can work in pretty much any type app, whether you can display an on-screen keyboard.

Now it is a little more involved or text about it than on Android TV, because you have to select the space in which you want the text to enter, press the keyboard button for voice to text, then press the button on the remote control and pronounce your text.

But you can put long strings of text, I mean you can even fill in a page, if you want, and it is supported in all applications as I have already said.

A very good addition to the U9 H, and it is a security feature that essentially gives you access to the full high definition video, on streaming applications like Netflix, and YouTube.

Another interesting feature of the u9 H, is the audio support, the H stands for Dolby Digital that has Dolby Digital audio and HD audio pass-through and Cody for the more advanced options, that you should use the HDMI, but it also has an optical audio output port, which I mainly used.

Another of the best features of the unite, is that it is highly optimized for Kodi multimedia playback, works very well even at 4k resolution, it works perfectly with Plex videos in 4k, streaming services work well for even tables, my network DVR application, works well video playback is definitely its strong point, it also has Wi-Fi – Fi 802 2×2 dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi, which basically means that it is a very fast Wi-Fi, it completely hooks the needle that I am going about 20 feet away, and it is nice and fast.

It also has a new octa-core processor from AM logic which handles very well in practice, everything is super fast and the eye-catching Geekbench scores, came back lower than I expected however, and I think it may not be fully optimized for this processor, but it really seems to have good results.

The application stalls are nice and fast, it chews 4k video without problems, the user interface is nice and smooth and not slow at all, and it can even run third-party launchers, with very little LAG as well.

And last but not least MINIX is finally updated to marshmallow, they told me that they are waiting for this update to make sure that everything is perfected, and that there are no bugs, so they have a high quality box.

So I really appreciate that, because the box is great and included with Android marshmallow, is an adoptable storage so that I can use a USB stick, or a micro SD card, it is a double storage so that applications can be installed on it, which increases the total storage of the box.

This is the first open Android media player on which, the video screen recording works, so the recording doesn’t even seem to slow down the u9, maybe just a little, but really it’s not even noticeable, the video screen recording definitely works.

Conclusion :

Now and finally, I’m going to make a list of the pros and cons.

So for the pros, I really like the voice remote control, it’s my new favorite improvement on this player too it’s nice, fast and responsive and it can even handle 4k at 60 frames per second in HDR, which is great.

I love that now mainstream apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, this neat security, can now be played in full high definition.

And I love the hardware on the unit, it has optical audio output and digital surround sound, three Gigabit Ethernet USB ports, plus Wi-Fi, and the adoptable storage are great.

Now, for the cons, first of all, I would like to see USB 3.0 ports, at least one also on the remote control, I love voice search, but I would like there to be a smaller, and more basic remote control with like five functions, and voice search that would be great.
